Novell Announces Availability of Sentinel 6

24 May 2007

Novell today announced that its next-generation real-time security event management product, Sentinel 6 from Novell, is generally available worldwide.

A significant upgrade to the previous generation product, Sentinel 6 from Novell incorporates new features such as:

  • a simplified event source management framework to make it easier to deploy and use
  • improved workflow management and remediation tracking for greater flexibility and applicability in addressing security and compliance violations
  • a powerful correlation engine for more effective security monitoring and risk reduction
  • tighter integration with Novell's identity management solutions, Novell Identity Manager and Novell Access Manager, for a complete, automated security solution for IT compliance.

Sentinel 6 from Novell is an enterprise-class software application that automates the process of gathering, analyzing, correlating and reporting on security and compliance data to help customers identify and respond to security incidents and policy compliance violations. It delivers an integrated view of security and compliance events across the entire enterprise – compiling real-time information from devices, applications and physical controls into a single console. When a network breach or out-of-state policy violation occurs, the built-in remediation workflow allows IT administrators to immediately take action based on preset roles, regulatory requirements and business policies and creates a system of record for attesting to external government regulations and supporting internal audit requirements.
