23 April 2013

GWAVA announces that Ken Muir, Chief Executive Officer of GWAVA will moderate a panel to address current risks in social media and social media best practices.

The panel will be held at this month’s Government Information Technology Executive Council (GITEC) Summit April 28-30, 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland.

“This distinguished panel will provide powerful perspectives on how to navigate the new world of social media within government” said, Mr. Muir. “I am honored to be the moderator of this panel and look forward to showing how these government entities have addressed Social Media.”

The panel discussion is entitled, “Scandal, Litigation and Reputation: Best Practices For Avoiding Social Media Pitfalls.”

As Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and a myriad of other applications hit an organizations network each day, personal social media usage by employees brings the risks of muddled messaging, organization exposure, reputation damage, inappropriate conduct and could lead to employee removal and ultimately potential litigation.

This session will focus on how to set social media policy, what is required and what is not, are you liable for what happens on your network, how to avoid risks, in addition to providing best practices to protect you and your organization.

Join this expert panel discussion Center for Excellence in Digital Government, Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies, General Services Administration (GSA), eDiplomacy, Department of State, National Defense University (NDU) and Department of Veterans Affairs, and moderated by Ken Muir, CEO, GWAVA Technologies.
